Community News & Information
Jorja & Lew Sanders are actively
involved with both residential
and commercial development in
the Ticonderoga New York area.
They have a strong network of developers that
they
have "sold" Ticonderoga on, and are busy negotiating
purchase offers with these developers.
Jorja has positioned herself on strategic committees
like:
-
The Board of Directors
of the
Ticonderoga Chamber of
Commerce
-
The Ticonderoga Economic
Development Committee
-
The Ticonderoga Quality
Destination Workforce
Committee
-
Board of Directors of
North Country Community
College with seats
on the Finance Committee
and the Scholarship
Committee
-
A
newly appointed position on the
ANCA
Board of Directors
(an agency with representation in 14 counties of
upstate focusing on economic growth and advocacy)
Working diligently to keep
current with the
pulse of the community Jorja and Lew have devoted precious time attending
meetings to help improve the community, expand the
infrastructure, increase the tax base, increase jobs,
and ultimately improve the quality of life for those who
have chosen to make this community their home.
The completion of the newest branch of
North Country
Community College in Ticonderoga, and their recent
announcement by the NYS Education Department to approve
their nursing program will be one of the precious jewels
in the Ticonderoga Crown. The site for their; now open,
state of the art facility Jorja sold to them and then fought,
sometimes bitterly, until they could win all approvals
and funding. Not an easy process.
Jorja and Lew have been instrumental in the nearly complete
sale of a large tract of commercial property to
Lowe’s
Home Improvement.
They will be located adjacent to the
Walmart SuperCenter.
Dunkin’ Donuts, at the “Four Corners” of
Ticonderoga, is nearing completion and will be the only
Dunkin' Donuts store with a stone fireplace.
A lovely building, will serve as production kitchen for
the next store to be constructed in Whitehall, followed
by a store in Warrensburg.
Fort Ticonderoga will be showcasing their construction project – a
multi-million dollar project called the Mars Education
Center, which will enable the Fort to be open year-round
and will attract large groups to the community to attend
conferences at the Fort. |
